In July 2001, LGV acquired Craegmoor Healthcare, reflecting our keen interest in the healthcare sector. Craegmoor is the leading independent provider of specialist care for adults with a range of needs including learning difficulties, autism, mental health problems, physical disabilities, dementia and nursing care.
Founded in 1994, Craegmoor has expanded principally through the acquisition of both single care homes and corporate operators. The group currently provides care to about 4,000 individuals through a network of 220 residential care homes, independent hospitals, supported living units and colleges across the UK. The market for specialist care remains fragmented and this provides Craegmoor, as the leading participant, with a strong platform for future growth.
In July 2008 LGV sold Craegmoor to Advent International for an undisclosed amount.
